The welfare of the future is our great challenge. To meet this challenge, we at the Employment Administration have a very important mission: We aim to enable residents receiving financial assistance to become self-sufficient as quickly as possible, while also helping employers find the right skills.

We face this challenge with a wide range of adult education and labor market initiatives – and we try new ways of working together with businesses, other administrations, authorities, and civil society. To succeed, we must dare to try new things and find smart solutions.

To prepare the city's youth for working life, we offer them a school holiday internship. School holiday internships mean that young people aged 13-15 work on simpler tasks in various districts, such as picking up litter and weeding flower beds. The youth will also gain knowledge about the labor market. The aim is to increase awareness of work at an early age and for young people to learn to take care of their residential area.

This is a popular initiative, and many young people apply every year. The youth work both in their own residential area and in other parts of the city to gain more encounters and greater mobility in the city.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for someone who wants to mentor young people in school holiday internships during the Easter break in week 14. You will also need to participate in an introduction to the work from Tuesday to Thursday in week 13.

You will be a mentor for young people aged 13-15 in various districts in Helsingborg. You will guide them in their work and be a support to the youth, working alongside them in practical tasks and being a good role model. We also want you to convey information and create discussions about the labor market. The work is performed outdoors.

Qualifications

We want you to:

• be at least 18 years old
• enjoy and find it rewarding to work with young people
• be social, engaged, and responsible
• have a good demeanor
• be able to work independently and collaborate well with others
• be open to change and flexible

It is a great advantage if you have previously worked with young people or have been a leader for children/youth, for example in a community organization.

A prerequisite for employment is that you have current training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If you lack this, you will be offered a training opportunity in connection with the employment.

Great emphasis will be placed on your personal suitability. If you are offered a position, you must present a valid extract from the police records.
